African scholars receive Humboldt Foundation scholarships

Since 2009, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has awarded climate protection scholarships to young scientists from emerging markets or developing countries outside Europe. Never before have so many Africans been among the recipients. Of the 19 scholarship holders in 2017-8, 11 are from Africa, five of them women.

G20: Summit in Hamburg hosted by Germany

On 7 and 8 July, Germany is hosting a summit in Hamburg of the Heads of State and Government of the major industrialised nations and emerging economies (G20). The motto of this year’s Summit is: building resilience, improving sustainability and assuming responsibility. During the Summit, a dinner for the G20 Foreign Ministers will also be held.
