In this fast-paced day and age in which most employees change jobs regularly who can actually look back at a life-long career with one employer only? Cliff Southgate, who is known to many readers of the CAPE DISPATCH as our receptionist and switchboard operator started working for the Consulate General on 07 February 1963 and retired at the age of 65 at the end of August. He thus retired after 48 years of service and surely was one of the German Foreign Office´s longest-serving employees.
