Embassy provides funding for preschool in Diepsloot
Youngsters in Diepsloot have something to smile about. The German Embassy in Pretoria provided approximately 13,500 Euro (140,334.00 Rand) for the construction of a jungle gym and the purchase of kitchen equipment in the Impact Kids Preschool & Community Care Centre in Diepsloot.

The organisation was created by a couple with roots in the United States to help those most in need throughout South Africa (www.impactafrica.org).
Recognizing that the vicious circle of unemployment, drugs and alcohol abuse can only be interrupted by giving the children a vision of hope, the major goal of Impact Kids is to offer early childhood education. In Diepsloot many children come from an extremely difficult background: often they are orphaned at an early age due to the high rate of HIV/AIDS infections or/and are subjected to violence and abuse.
The Impact Kids Preschool & Community Care Centre is situated in a remodelled and (in parts) newly-constructed brick house, painted in bright colours. The Centre is located in Diepsloot, a township with an estimated 210,000 inhabitants in the northern suburbs of Johannesburg. The Centre has access to electricity and regular water supply which is rare for much of the community. Here the small ones can find a safe environment appropriate for children.
