For the first time there will be a Grand Master Norm chess tournament in this country and it will happen right here at the German International School in Cape Town! Players can get international norms up to Grand Master level.
From 19-29 July players will compete in the following sections: Junior, Open, Prestige (FIDE rated), IM Norm and GM Norm.
GM means Grand Master and there was never a specific GM norm tournament in SA before our event.
With seven confirmed Grand Masters this tournament will be followed not only nationally but also internationally.
