On an international level, outreach and partnerships provide access to German facilities, projects or programs for those interested.
Germany’s future economic and social development depends to an increasing extent on its innovation performance. Men and women scientists from Germany are playing in the “Champions League” of international research. The number of applications for patents serves as an indicator of innovative strength: Germany leads in this field in Europe.

With the campaign “German – Language of Ideas” German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle aims to promote learning German as a foreign language abroad. German is the most widely spoken language in Europe. Nearly 15 million people speak and learn German as a foreign language. However, in recent years there has been a decline in the number of people learning German. The German Government is determined to counter this alarming sign. After all, language was a foundation for establishing good relations between countries.
