Energy concept

The German government has adopted a long-term, cross-sectoral Energy Concept that paves the way for the age of renewable energies. It has  formulated guidelines for an environmentally sound, reliable and affordable energy supply to reach its ambitious climate protection goals. The aim is to develop and implement an overall strategy for the period up to 2050.

German cabinet confirms large increase in environmental research spending

Germany's federal cabinet recently adopted the government's 6th Energy Research Programme. It sets out the guiding principles and priorities of the  government's support policy in the field of innovative energy technologies for the coming years. This support lays the groundwork for an environmentally sound, secure and economical restructuring of Germany's energy supply.

Energy Efficiency Award 2011

This international prize is designed to reward excellence in increasing energy efficiency in industry and production. The Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) – the German Energy Agency – hereby announces the fifth Energy Efficiency Award, as part of the Initiative Energie Effizienz. Patron of the competition is the Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Rainer Brüderle. The winners will be awarded their prizes at the dena Energy Efficiency Congress, which will take place on 21 and 22 November 2011 in Berlin . Submissions for this competition, with its total prize money of EUR 30,000, are open between now and 15 July 2011.
