The European Film Festival is back for the 4th time at Cinema Nouveau theatres in Johannesburg, Pretoria and Durban from May 5 - 14. Each European film reflects the skills and take on the world of filmmakers who are not limited by national borders. The line-up of films represents 12 countries, including Germany's official entry into the category Best Foreign Film 2017.

Thanks to the support of the German Foreign Office, for the first time the 2017 Berlinale will provide a platform for innovative projects and ideas from the African film industry. The “Berlinale Africa Hub” is an initiative of the European Film Market (EFM) in cooperation with the World Cinema Fund, with Berlinale Talents, and with the Berlinale Co-Production Market.
